DKP RULES & REGULATIONS (Revision 2.7 - Updated 10/6/2008) (submitted by Scorpious at 06:53pm CDT) DKP RULES, & REGULATIONS (Revision 2.7) Scorpious is the DKP Officer. If there are any discrepencies, PM/in-game-email him with the details. 0. Overview - Sequel uses a DKP system to distribute items gained from raiding Everquest content. - To earn Sequel DKP, guild members participate in raid events. (see section 3) - During Sequel raid events, items will usually drop as rewards as loot. (see section 2) - Players purchase items from raid events using the DKP that they have earned by participating by bidding on the loot (see section 4). 1. Terminology - DKP - "Dragon Kill Points" - a system used to quantify loot distribution based on participation. - Current DKP - this is the pool of DKP points that Mains currently have. These are earned by coming to raid events, and spent on getting items. - Earned DKP - this is the historical amount of DKP accrued by a Main over their entire lifetime in raiding with the guild. This value will never decrease. - NTL - "No Tell Loot" - this term is used when an item is offered to a raid and no tells have been sent to the Officer taking requests for it. - Raid Leader (RL) - this is the Sequel Officer leading the current raid. The RL is a role, and not necessarily one Officer; they can change from time to time. - Mains - these are members who have applied for membership to Sequel at some point in the past, and are either Full Members or Applicants. - Members - same as Mains, terms can be used interchangably. - Full Members - these are mains who have successfully passed their trial membership, and are no longer Applicants. - Applicants - these are mains who are recently been granted a trial membership with the guild, and who are not Full Members yet. - Alts - These are typically considered alternate characters (other than your main) that cannot be boxed at the same time as your main. - Bots - These are typically considered alternate "boxed" characters, where someone operates them at the same time as their main. These will tend to be a character (or characters) on a seperate account(s). - Non-mains - These are a superset including bots and alts of current Mains in Sequel. - Guests - These are characters outside of Sequel who have requested to join ("guest" with) a Sequel raid. These are NOT non-mains. - Negative DKP - when either a Member is at zero (or lower) current DKP, or will become so when making a minimum bid on an item. 2. Loot Originally, items dropping in Sequel raids had a base value starting at 5 times their DKP Event value. (For example, pre-PoP raid events worth 5 DKP will drop items worth 25 DKP, 10 DKP events will drop items worth 50 DKP, etc). As content (and Event values) scale higher in difficulty, additional multipliers have been added to these higher HP/Mana loot drops. - The following are Officer guides for minimum bid values: 50 DKP starting value: Spell Runes (OoW, DoD, TSS), Augmentations (thru OoW), PoP (pre-Elemental) 75 DKP starting value: PoP (Elementals) 100 DKP starting value: End-game PoP (Time), GoD: (Natimbi thru Qvic and Inktu'Ta), OoW (non-progression), Epic 2.0 chest drops, DoN (up to Shogurei), DoD Bazu Stones, Last Bloods 125 DKP starting value: End-game GoD (Txevu, Tacvi), OoW: (MPG trials), DoN (Rikk / Kess / Yar'Lir), DoD (Shyra, Bloodeye) 150 DKP starting value: End-game OoW (CoA), End-game DoN (Vishimtar) 200 DKP starting value: DoD (Dray/Cot9/HQ, Demi), PoR (Porthio thru DK), Augmentations (DoD, PoR+) 225 DKP starting value: End-game TSS (AG/FC) 300 DKP starting value: End-game TBS (Solteris) 1500 DKP starting value: SoF tier III (up to MMM). * Standard disclaimer: These values can be changed at any time. - Refer to section 4 on how loot is awarded. 2.1 Loot priority - The loot priority list goes: (1) Member (Full Member or Applicant) (2) Negative DKP member NOT at the limit (See 4.4.2 and 4.4.2.1) (3) Bot (4) Alt (5) Guests - Sequel raids to gear up its mains first and foremost; and any other rotting loot beyond that is a privilege that is extended to its Full Members to allow them to obtain rotting loot for their respective non-mains. - There is ZERO obligation on the Officers part to allow ANY non-mains to be awarded loot. - It is completely within the Officers and/or the RL's discretion to prevent non-mains from obtaining loot during a Sequel raid, depending on the situation. - Specifics between the above listed classes of characters is listed below. 2.1.1 Full Members and Loot - Full Members have priority over applicants when it comes to Key drops (see 2.3) or Quest drops (see 2.4). - Full Members can ask to have any of their non-mains (bots or alts) tagged to Sequel, based on the non-main meeting the current level requirements. The Officers reserve the right to prevent a Full Member from having one (or more) of their non-mains to be tagged to Sequel. 2.1.2 Applicants and Loot - Applicants have mostly the same status as Full Members as far as receiving loot, however they will naturally have less DKP and not be able to win as much until they have put time into the guild. - Applicants do NOT have priority over Full Members when it comes to Key drops (see 2.3) or Quest drops (see 2.4). - Applicants cannot have any of their non-mains (bots or alts) tagged to Sequel. - Applicants will not necessarily have complete access to Guild Bank Items (see 2.2). - Applicants will not be considered in comparisons for Maximum Bid Ties (see 4.1.3.1). 2.1.3 Non-mains and Loot - If loot is not bid upon by mains (Full Members or Applicants) then the Officers will allow mains to allow their non-mains (bots or alts) to be able to receive loot. - Alts or Bots of mains in Sequel MUST be guildtagged within Sequel or in its affiliated guilds (i.e Alternates) to be eligible to obtain rotting drops. They also must be guilded prior to requesting any loot that drops in Sequel raids. NO EXCEPTIONS. 2.1.3.1 Bots and Loot - Since bots are logged in concurrently as their associated main, they are easier to manipulate instead of alts, which is why they have higher priority over alts. - Depending upon the situation, Officers may prevent any bots from being rewarded items (for example, respawn times, slowing down raids, etc ). - See section 4.5 on how bots may be awarded loot. 2.1.3.2 Alts and Loot - Alts have the least priority over mains, or bots because of the downtime required for the main to be completely unavailable to obtain a rotting drop. - You MUST inform the Officer requesting tells for the item that you are asking for, that your character is an alt. - Depending upon the situation, Officers may prevent any alts from being rewarded items (for example, respawn times, slowing down raids, etc ). - See section 4.5 on how alts may be awarded loot. 2.1.4 Negative DKP member and Loot - See section 4.4.2 for loot limitations for Full Members or Applicants who fall into the Negative DKP rules. 2.1.5 Guests and Loot - If guests are at a Sequel raid and are interested in a rotting item, it is only at the discresion of the Officers and/or RL that they may be permitted to loot it. 2.1.6 Officers and Loot - The only benefit that Officers have over Full Members is priority on Key drops (see 2.3). This is done so that Officers can be within a zone and be able to ensure that items within a keyed zone are distributed correctly. - Officers bid like mains do on items, and are considered no different than any other Full Member. 2.2 Guild Bank Items - You will be able to use your DKP to purchase items from the guild bank. For item pricing, ask an officer that is online how much the item is that you wish to purchase. Note that these items are not available to applicants until their 30 day application period is over. - Attunable items: if not bid on at a raid by present members or apps, attunables or any other non nodrop gear or items will be guild banked. - Rank II spells will be available to Full Members for free, based on availability. Note that demand on new expansion spells will be higher at release time, so access restrictions for these spells for Applicants will depend upon demand and timeframes. - Other items and Guild Bank specifics will be updated on the message boards with the Guild Bank status. 2.3 - Keys - If keys drop at a certain event, those keys will be distributed at the Officers' discresion, depending on specific classes or participation. - If circumstances do not warrant handling keys to specific classes or members, then in general common key drops will be distributed to Officer mains first, and then to full members based on Earned DKP ("lifetime" DKP, not current), and then to applicants based on Earned DKP. - common key drops include (but are not limited to) Time Phased Quinessence (PoTime), Seal: Mastery of All (Anguish), Accursed Drop of Blood (Demiplane), Twisted Harp String (Deathknell). 2.4 Quest Items - Quest items will frequently drop during Sequel raids. Distribution of these items will vary upon the nature of the quest. The general rule of thumb is that we want members already working their quests, to complete them. For many quests, we will use "progression rules", meaning tells will be requested based on individual progression through the quest, and items will be awarded to those closest to completing it. - Full members will be given opportunity for quest progression items before applicants. - For those quests which require a great deal of individual, non-raid progress, the items will tend to be offered up as DKP. - For quest items that almost always drop more than once in a specific event, these will tend to be not offered as DKP, and offered using progression rules. - We define quest items into two categories - progression-resulting items, and loot-resulting items. 2.4.1 Progression-resulting drops - Progression-resulting items are those items required to progress your character into further content into the game, and collectively allow the guild to enter that content. These items tend to drop in bulk, and are usually handled by the Key disribution rules (see 2.3). 2.4.1.1 Dragons of Norrath Progression drops - Since Sequel does not currently raid DoN events, these loot rules were removed from here for readability. They have been saved on the message boards. 2.4.1.2 Prophecy of Ro Key/Progression drops - Since Sequel does not currently raid PoR events, these loot rules were removed from here for readability. They have been saved on the message boards. 2.4.2 Loot-resulting Quests - Loot-resulting items are those items required to obtain a loot item for your character. - Quest progression rules are to offer quest items to those furthest into the quest (with the least amount of items needed to complete it) for full members first, then to applicants. - These loot-resulting quests usually require a great deal of individual effort to complete, and do not rely on a great deal of raiding for most of the quest progress. 2.4.2.1 Gates of Discord Loot-Resulting Quests - Since Sequel does not currently raid GoD events, these loot rules were removed from here for readability. They have been saved on the message boards. 2.4.2.2 Omens of War Loot-Resulting Quests - Since Sequel does not currently raid OoW events, these loot rules were removed from here for readability. They have been saved on the message boards. 2.4.2.3 Dragons of Norrath Loot-Resulting Quests - Since Sequel does not currently raid DoN events, these loot rules were removed from here for readability. They have been saved on the message boards. 2.4.2.4 Depths of Darkhollow Loot-Resulting Quests - Since Sequel does not currently raid DoD events, these loot rules were removed from here for readability. They have been saved on the message boards. 2.4.2.5 Prophecy of Ro Loot-Resulting Quests 2.4.2.6 The Serpent's Spine Loot-Resulting Quests 2.4.2.6.1 - The Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore 2.4.2.6.1.1 - Raid Drops for the Serpent Seeker's Charm of Lore: - If raid items drop during Sequel raids, these raid drops will be distributed by raid drop progression. Ties will be handled by Current DKP. - Members will be Charged 250 DKP (fixed value) per drop for the following 7 raid items: - - 1. Ebonheart of Lethar the Black (dropped by Lethar, second version from Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale: North event) - - 2. Elddar Moonlocket (dropped by Dyn`Leth, Firstborn of Lethar from Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale: North event) - - 3. Ambersnout's Snout (dropped by Ambersnout the Aberration from Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale: West event) - - 4. Krithgorian Royal Crest (dropped by Harfange the Black from Frostcrypt: Raid Instance #2 event) - - 5. Runed Sash of the Wraithguard (Dropped by Beltron the Shade King from Frostcrypt: Raid Instance #2 event) - - 6. Oblivion's Dark Core (dropped by Oblivion, raid encounter in northwest Sunderock Springs) - - 7. Illegible Diary of Lorekeeper Baeldon (dropped by Lorekeeper Baeldon from Udengar the Traitor event in Valdeholm, and by Lorekeeper Baeldon within Frostcrypt) - Members will be Charged 100 DKP (fixed value) per drop for the following raid/group item: - - 1. Direwind Totem (dropped by Direwind Gust in Severan the Direwind Caller event in Direwind Cliffs) - The preference order for these raid drops are the following: Full Members, Applicants, Tagged Bots/Alts, and Negative DKP holders (see 4.4.2). 2.4.2.6.2 - Arcekor, the Instigator - Because of several factors (the hate buildup of this weapon, rarity), this item will have a preference to Warriors before other classes, in a specific circumstance. - If Warriors place bids equivalent to the Max Bid Cap (see 4.2 for this value), their max bids will be considered *before* other classes. For multiple warriors bids, ties will be handled the normal way (Current DKP) between them. - If non-Warriors place max bids on this item, their max bids will only be considered if a Warrior has not already placed a max bid, and ties will be handled the normal way (Current DKP). - Warriors placing bids below the Max Bid Cap will be considered no differently than any other class placing bids for this item, and will go through the normal process. - This rule only applies to Warrior Full Members (not Applicants, nor non-mains). - Warriors who have less Current DKP than the Max Bid Cap cannot take advantage of this rule (see Negative DKP rules at 4.4.2). They can certainly place bids on whatever Current DKP they have, but they would fall into the normal pool of bidders. - In this way, this high agro-building weapon is placed into the hands of Sequel's warriors first ONLY if they choose to max bid it, and into the hands of the other classes that can use it immediately afterwards using our normal procedures. 2.4.2.7 The Buried Sea Loot-Resulting Quests 2.4.2.7.1 Phosphenes - Sequel's goal in distributing Phosphenes is twofold: - 1 - to make them available as soon as possible for those who can immediately use it at the raid, and - 2 - to offer the largest upgrades possible for our members. - They will be sold in sets for DKP, and to Mains who will purchase them. - Direct use of raid obtained Phosphenes not for the guilded main who purchased a set will result in a penalty, which may include guildremoval. 2.4.2.7.1.1 Introduction to Phosphenes - Phosphenes are used as currency to purchase upgrades from Katta Castellum vendors. 2.4.2.7.1.1.1 Quantity of Phosphenes dropped by defeating Solteris Events - Phosphenes will drop in nodrop clusters after beating each Solteris event. When these clusters are clicked, it summons a stack of Phosphenes depending on the type of cluster. - Event 1 & 2 drop two Tiny Phosphene Clusters which summons 200 phosphenes total (2x100). - Event 3 & 4 drop two Small Phosphene Clusters which summons 400 phosphenes total (2x200). - Event 5 & 6 drop two Phosphene Clusters which summons 800 phosphenes total (2x400). - Event 7 drops two Large Phosphene Clusters which summons 2000 phosphenes total (2x1000). - The quantity of Phosphenes dropped during each event is not always equivalent to a common denominator of the item that the event just unlocked, so remainders of Phosphenes will result. 2.4.2.7.1.1.2 Content unlocked by defeating Solteris Events - After defeating each raid event, present members get flagged to unlock specific content that is available to purchase from those vendors. (Defeating Event 1 unlocks wrists, Event 2 unlocks gloves, Event 3 unlocks boots, Event 4 unlocks helm, Event 5 unlocks arms, Event 6 unlocks legs, and Event 7 unlocks chest) 2.4.2.7.1.2 Phosphenes will be distributed for Solteris visible armor and for spells or tomes purchases from the Katta merchants through phosphenes. 2.4.2.7.1.2.1 Phosphene Armor Distribution As Phosphenes drop after defeating an Event, sets of phosphenes will be offered for DKP associated for that given event. Since those members were present to unlock that content associated with the event (see 2.4.2.7.1.1.2), we will offer sets of Phosphenes associated for that event. So, the following sets will always be initially offered: - For defeating Event 1, two sets of Phosphenes for wrists will be offered for DKP. - For defeating Event 2, one set of Phosphenes for gloves will be offered for DKP. - For defeating Event 3, two sets of Phosphenes for boots will be offered for DKP. - For defeating Event 4, one set of Phosphenes for helms will be offered for DKP. - For defeating Event 5, two sets of Phosphenes for arms will be offered for DKP. - For defeating Event 6, one set of Phosphenes for legs will be offered for DKP. - For defeating Event 7, two sets of Phosphenes for chests will be offered for DKP. 2.4.2.7.1.2.2 Phosphene Spell and Tome Distribution - While there exists a surplus of phosphenes, they will be first offered as a set for Rank III spells or tomes. The exact denomination of phosphenes allocated to the winning bidder will be based on the cost of the desired spell or tome. - Spell and tome sets will start with a min bid of 75 dkp. Just like TSS and SOF runes, they will not count against the daily two loot limit. - Any NTL spell or tome sets will be guild banked for future events. - As a general rule of thumb, one spell or tome set will be offered per Solteris event. The exact number is based on officer discretion. 2.4.2.7.1.3 Remainder Phosphenes & NTL - If any set of armor is found to be NTL at a specific event, those Phosphenes will be Guild Banked for a future Solteris event, and will go towards offering a new set of armor depending upon the furthest Progression event that Sequel has currently defeated, and therefore has unlocked (see 2.4.2.7.1.1.2). This set, once enough Phosphenes have been collected as remainders, will be made available at the next Solteris event. 2.4.2.7.1.4 Phosphene Distribution Example 1 - 1. (After beating Solteris Event #1, two Tiny Phosphene Clusters drop) - 2. (Officer1 will loot both Tiny Phosphene Clusters and click them each, creating 2 stacks of 100 Phosphenes) - 3. (Officer1 determines that from beating Solteris event #1 that the Phosphenes will be distributed as 2 sets of 100 for wrists) - 4. (Officer1 determines that the starting bid for them is 300 DKP) - 5. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Phosphene Wrist set (100) starting 300 DKP first call' 2.4.2.7.1.5 Phosphene Distribution Example 2 - 1. (After beating Solteris Event #2, two Tiny Phosphene Clusters drop) - 2. (Officer1 will loot both Tiny Phosphene Clusters and click them each, creating 2 stacks of 100 Phosphenes) - 3. (Officer1 determines that from beating Solteris event #2 that the phosphenes will be distributed as 1 set of 150 for wrists) - 4. (Officer1 determines that the starting bid for this set is 300 DKP) - 5. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Phosphene Glove set (150) starting 300 DKP first call' - 6. (After the Glove set is sold off, there will be a remainder of 50 Phosphenes) - 7. (Officer1 determines that the 50 Phosphenes will be offered for DKP for Rank III spells) - 8. (Officer1 determines that the starting bid for this set is 50 DKP) - 9. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Phosphene Rank III set (50) starting 50 DKP first call' - 10. (if any Phosphene set if determined as NTL, Officer1 will take the resulting Phosphene amount and add it to any remainder Phosphenes previously gathered) 2.4.2.7.2 Combine Signet Ring upgrades Four upgrade containers will drop within Solteris: - A Corrupted Drop of Focused Sunlight from Event #2. This is combined with the Combine Signet Ring to make A Faintly Glowing Combine Signet Ring. - A Impure Drop of Focused Sunlight from Event #4. This is combined with A Faintly Combine Signet Ring to make A Glowing Glowing Combine Signet Ring. - A Purified Drop of Focused Sunlight from Event #6. This is combined with A Glowing Combine Signet Ring to make A Brightly Glowing Glowing Combine Signet Ring. - A Pristine Drop of Focused Sunlight from Event #7. This is combined with A Brightly Glowing Combine Signet Ring to make A Transformed Ring of Power. 2.4.2.7.2.1 A Corrupted Drop of Focused Sunlight - For this drop, the starting bid will be 300 DKP. - Any max bids will use tiebreakers by Current DKP. 2.4.2.7.2.2 A Impure Drop of Focused Sunlight - For this drop, the starting bid will be 500 DKP. - Preference for this drop will first go to those who already have A Faintly Glowing Combine Signet Ring (the ring combined with the first container), and then to all others. (If bidding on this drop, please link the ring you currently have.) - Any max bids by each tier will use tiebreakers by Current DKP. 2.4.2.7.2.3 A Purified Drop of Focused Sunlight - For this drop, the starting bid will be 500 DKP. - Preference for this drop will first go to those who already have A Glowing Combine Signet Ring, then to those who have A Faintly Glowing Combine Signet Ring, and then to all others. (If bidding on this drop, please link the ring you currently have.) - Any max bids by each tier will use tiebreakers by Current DKP. 2.4.2.7.2.4 A Pristine Drop of Focused Sunlight - For this drop, the starting bid will be 500 DKP. - Preference for this drop will first go to those who already have A Brightly Glowing Combine Signet Ring, then to those who have A Glowing Combine Signet Ring, then to those who have A Faintly Glowing Combine Signet Ring, and then to all others. (If bidding on this drop, please link the ring you currently have.) - Any max bids by each tier will use tiebreakers by Current DKP. 3. Raids - Please refer to Raid rules in the Sequel forums. 3.1 Limited Seating - It is ultimately the RL that decides which members should stay or drop from a limited attendance raid (for example, when 57 show up for a 54-man raid). - Remember, it is the RL's goal to succeed in a raid event, so factors considered by the RL include classes required, full member vs applicant status, and expected play time (especially for long raids that lock at a certain point). Don't take it personally if you are asked to drop! 3.1.1 Credit for Raids - If you are asked to drop from the raid by the RL, you earn full DKP credit for doing so. - If you are able to be 'piggyed' into a zone but not enough flagged members are in the raid to allow you to enter the zone (for example, have all the CoA signets turned in as Sequel enters CoA, are Dreadspire flagged as Sequel enters Demiplane of Blood, or are ToB flagged as Sequel enters Deathknell), you will receive credit for the raid. - No DKP credit will be given to a main when they: - - cannot be 'piggyed' into the zone/event because they do not have the minimum flag required to enter (i.e. no signets done for CoA raids, no Dreadspire flag for Demi raids, and no ToB flag for DK raids). - - drop the raid before the raid/event is won - - drop from an overfull raid without confirmation from the RL. 3.2 Non-mains and Sequel Raids - Unflagged bots need to be approved by an officer to be brought to a raid, dont even sit them outside for piggy unless asked. - Unapproved & unflagged bots in the raid will be removed along with your main from raids for 2 days. - Multiple offenses = guild remove 3.3 Requested Raids Personal progression raid events can be requested by full members in the Raid Requests forum. If a raid event is requested, the requesting member earns no DKP for the event. This is accomplished by logging the type of item received to DKP, and making it the equivalent of the raid event. For example, Epic 1.5 final fights are worth 15 DKP, so if PlayerA requests this fight and completes it, PlayerA is "charged" 15 DKP for "Epic 1.5" (negating the 15 DKP earned for the event). 4. Awarding Loot - Closed Bidding System - Our bidding system is intended to speed up the loot distribution process significantly and reduce error on the Officers part. 4.1 Closed Bidding Rules - This is a Closed Bid system, where an Officer will take three (3) rounds of bids. These are Closed Bids; no one outside of the Officer taking the bids will know, not even other Officers (with the rare exception of a loot issue, and even then this is usually after the fact). - The Officer taking your bid will not acknowledge you if you are the high bidder for any round - they will announce the current highest value for that round only, so if what you bid is the same value as they are announcing, you're the current high bidder. 4.1.1 Bidding Procedure - A starting DKP bid value for each item is determined (see 2.0.1) and the item will be announced in the first round of bids with that starting value. - If you want this item, you will tell the Officer your DKP bid (see section 4.1.2 on how and what to bid). You may bid any number of times - note section 4.4.1's Bidding Protections. - A second round of bids will be called with the current high bidder's DKP value. You may bid if you are interested in the item. - A third (and final) round of bids will be called with the current high bidder's DKP value. You may bid if you are interested in the item. - After this third (last) call, you have 15 seconds to get any last bids in - at which time the Officer will award the item to the highest bidder saying "Congrats yourname itemname XXX DKP". - If no mains request items after the third call is announced, then Officers will open the item up to non-mains. Non mains (bots or alts) are not able to bid for Sequel items directly (see 2.1.3 and 2.1.4) but mains may ask for loot for their non-mains after all other mains have passed on the item. See 4.5 for how non-mains can get items. 4.1.2 How to Bid - The values of your DKP bids have some restrictions. - Your DKP bid will not be below the minimum announced bid. - Your DKP bid will not exceed as much Current DKP that you currently have, nor will it exceed the maximum bid cap (see 4.2). - Bids are only accepted in increments of five (5) DKP (for example, 130, 135, 140, etc). Do NOT bid otherwise (130.1 or 141), or these bids may be ignored. - Do not bid the same amount over again between different rounds - you are spamming the Officer at this point. - If you are currently Negative DKP (4.4.2) and/or at the Member Loot Limit (4.4.3) then refer to those sections for restrictions. When you send your bid to an Officer, please also mention that you are at either or status; this will speed up the process. - To prevent any confusion between multiple items being bid on concurrently, it is recommended that you link the item you are bidding on with your bid. ]4.1.3 Tie Bids - Tie bids are resolved by comparing 30 day Raid Attendance percentage (RA%) between Members (both Full Members and Applicants). - If the bidders are still tied after that, we will use 60 days for comparison, then 90 days for comparison, and at that point /random. 4.1.3.1 Maximum Bid Ties - For multiple bids that are at the maximum bid cap (see 4.2), the following will be excluded from the comparison used in Tie Bids (see 4.1.3): - - Full Members who have won a max bid tie within the past 30 days. However, if all tie bidders have won a max bid tie, then this will not apply. - - Applicants will not be considered in the comparison. This is a benefit offered only to Full Members. 4.2 Maximum Bid Cap - A maximum bid cap exists for Sequel closed bidding, and is also referenced in several locations. This bid cap may vary depending upon content. This value may change periodically, and will be announced in the Private -> Officers Blog area as a Sticky Message. - - The maximum bid that can be given during raids for all other content (and assumed to be the default value unless otherwise noted) is 2500 DKP. - - The maximum bid that can be given during raids for Secrets of Faydwer (SoF) content (tier 3 and above) is 7000. 4.3 Bidding examples: 4.3.1 Bidding example #1: Regular Bidding - 1. (Item001 drops, Officer1 determines that the starting bid for it is 125 DKP) - 2. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Item001 starting 125 DKP first call' - 3. Dick tells Officer1, '155 DKP for Item001' - 4. (Officer1 gets three tells with various bids, and determines that the highest bid is from Fred for 155 DKP) - 5. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Item001 155 DKP second call' - 6. Dick tells Officer1, '170 DKP for Item001' - 7. (Officer1 gets two tells with various bids, and determines that the highest bid is from Tom for 200 DKP) - 8. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Item001 200 DKP third and final call' - 9. Dick tells Officer1, '350 DKP for Item001' - 10. (Officer1 gets five tells with various bids, and determines that the highest bid is from Harry for 400 DKP) - 11. Officer1 tells the raid, 'congratulations Harry Item001 400 DKP' - 12. (Harry is deducted 400 DKP from his current DKP, and loots Item001) 4.3.2 Bidding example #2: Tie Bids - 1. (Item002 drops) - 2. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Item002 starting 125 DKP first call' - 3. (Officer1 gets no bids for Item002) - 4. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Item002 125 DKP NTL second call' - 5. Dick tells Officer1, '300 DKP for Item002' - 6. (Officer1 gets four tells with various bids, and determines that the highest bid is from Tom for 500 DKP) - 7. Officer1 tells the raid, 'Item002 500 DKP third and final call' - 8. Dick tells Officer1, '550 DKP for Item002' - 9. (Officer1 gets four tells with various bids, and determines that the highest bid value is 550, and sent from two different people: Dick and Tom) - 10. (Officer1 will then check the DKP site and see which of those two members has the higher raid attendance (RA%)). - 11. (In this case after checking, Officer1 determines that Dick's Last 30 Days RA% is 45%, and Tom's Last 30 Days RA% is 55%, so Tom will win the tie) - 12. Officer1 tells the raid, 'congratulations Tom Item002 (ties) 550 DKP' - 13. (Tom is deducted 550 DKP from his current DKP, and loots Item002) 4.4 Abuse Protection Sequel has a number of protections in our DKP system to prevent abuses. 4.4.1 Bidding Protections - You can not outbid yourself between the 3 different calls. (For example, in the second call you bid 50 DKP and the third you bid 75, and no one else bids more than 50, you win the item for 50 DKP) - Outbidding yourself in the SAME call is allowed but locks in your higher bid (for example bidding 50 DKP in the second call, bidding 75 DKP in the third round and bidding 100 DKP in the final seconds of the third call, you win the item for 100 DKP). - Bid carefully! If you bid on an item that you can use (and its clear that you already do not have it), you are stuck with it. Absolutely no possiblity of backing out - Officers are not mindreaders on why *you* bid on the item. - You cannot bid more DKP than you have on an item (for example, if you have 325 current DKP, you cannot bid more than 325 DKP on an item). If you are at 0 DKP (or possibly lower in some circumstances), or if you do not have enough DKP to bid the minimum bid for a given item, then Negative DKP rules apply (see 4.4.2) 4.4.2 Negative DKP - Negative DKP not only means when a Member is at zero (or lower) current DKP, but it also means that when placing a minimum bid upon an item that they will become Negative (zero or lower) DKP. - If you are at Negative DKP, you will only able to bid on items that all mains (Full Members and Applicants) do not bid upon. If there are *any* bidders with positive DKP, bids from Negative DKP members will be ignored. - If multiple Negative DKP bidders request an item (and no positive DKP bidders), ties will be resolved by awarding to who has the closest to zero DKP (still based on Current DKP, as most ties are). - If applicable, you must inform the Officer taking tells that you are at Negative DKP. You will slow down the loot awarding process otherwise. - This allows us to continue to gear Members up & prevents items from going to rot, but prevents these Negative DKP holders from obtaining loot before other Members who request them also. - This applies to general drops, and NOT specifically-defined quest items which use DKP and require a minimum Current DKP to purchase (Epic 2.0 globes, Epic 2.5 augments). Negative DKP holders requesting these items will not be able to obtain them, and will fall to the absolute bottom of those items' priority list. So plan your upgrades carefully. 4.4.2.1 Negative DKP Limit - The lowest limit in which a member can go negative before they will no longer be allowed to bid on minimum bids is -500 DKP. - To prevent abuse, the Officers reserve the right to block minimum bids from *any* Negative DKP holders who maintain a constant negative DKP balance but repeatedly are bidding on min bid items. Thus, by maintaining a positive DKP balance, members may purchase anything they want with their DKP that they earned. 4.4.3 Member Loot Limits: - There is a TWO (2) item loot limit for Members (both Full Members and Applicants) per day of raiding. - This applies to non-quest, non-Augmentation, and non-spell rune drops. - The duration of the limit is per contiguous raiding day (for example, if a member hits the Member Loot Limit from the first raid, and we hit 6 raids in a row after that, the limit is in effect for the duration of raids for that evening [or day] of raiding.) - This limit ensures that members don't wait for one opportunity and buy everything in one raid session (chances are, we'll do the event again!), and it also distributes items to more members. - The Member Loot Limit is completely seperate from the Non-main Loot Limit (see 4.5.2). 4.4.3.1 Member Loot Limit Exceptions: - 1. If only one member asks for an item; if there's no interest (tells) by any other member (mains) who is not at the Member Loot Limit, then the person can exceed the limit. - - Example 1: PlayerA and PlayerB are at the Member Loot Limit. Item1 drops, and both PlayerA and PlayerB send tells for it. Both can exceed the Member Loot Limit for Item1 because they are the only ones asking for it. - - Example 2: PlayerA and PlayerB are at the Member Loot Limit. Item1 drops, and both PlayerA and PlayerB send tells for it. PlayerC (who is not at the Member Loot Limit) sends a tell also. Both PlayerA and PlayerB are not eligible for Item1. - 2. Officers may determine that specific content and/or drops are preferred for gearing up undergeared Members, and thus should NOT be limited by Member Loot Limits. This content will be listed below and updated accordingly. - This list includes the following: - - Items: - - - TBS: Solteris visible armor (purchased through Phosphenes) - - - TBS: Solteris Combine Signet Ring upgrades 4.5 Non-mains and Awarding Loot - If all members pass on loot from a Sequel raid, the Officer accepting bids for the item will take requests from Full Members for their non-mains. - Full Members must tell the Officer the name of their non-main for which they are requesting the item. If the non-main is an alt, the Full Member must also mention this as well. - If more than one Full Member requests loot for non-mains, the Officer will assign numbers to those who sent tells, and will /random based on the number of non-mains who sent tells for it - the winner is the number that comes up. - Ties are done by random because these are non-mains. - The Full Member will be deducted DKP for their non-main looting the drop (see 4.5.1). - Example 1: Bow of Doom drops at a Sequel raid. Officer1 is taking tells for the item. - - Officer1 tells the raid, 'Bow of Doom 200 DKP, first call - - Officer1 tells the raid, 'Bow of Doom NTL 200 DKP, second call - - Officer1 tells the raid, 'Bow of Doom NTL 200 DKP, last call - - Officer1 tells the raid, 'Bow of Doom NTL, tells for bots - - Tom tells Officer1, 'Interested in Bow of Doom for my bot Moe' - - Richard tells Officer1, 'Interested in Bow of Doom for my bot Larry' - - Harry tells Officer1, 'Interested in Bow of Doom for my bot Curley' - - Officer1 tells the raid, 'Bow of Doom 1-Tombot, 2-Richardbot, 3-Harrybot' - - Since Officer1 got 3 tells, he/she enters /random 1 3 - - **A Magic Die is rolled by Officer1. - - **It could have been any number from 1 to 3, but this time it turned up a 3. - - Officer1 tells the raid, 'congrats Harrybot Bow of Doom' - - Once Curley loots the Bow of Doom, Officer1 deducts DKP from Harry (see 4.5.1 for current value deducted). - Note that it is NOT the Officers/RL's responsibility to stop all raid activities to get a non-main to the raid location to loot an item. Situations (certain events, timing, etc) may hinder getting non-mains to a raid to get to loot an item. 4.5.1 Non-mains and DKP - If a non-main is awarded an item, its corresponding Full Member main will be charged 150 DKP for looting the item as the non-main. - This DKP value will be deducted as an Individual Adjustment, noting the item name and corresponding Full Member's name. - The items that DKP will be deducted against for non-mains include equipment (armor or weapons), augmentations, cultural seals, etc. - The items that DKP will NOT be deducted against for non-mains include progression drops, backflags, keys, spell runes, Epic 2.x items, AE blockers. - Full Members asking for items for their non-mains who fall into the Negative DKP rules (see 4.4.2) fall behind in priority to those Full Members who are maintaining a positive DKP balance. - Full Members asking for items for their non-mains who would fall into the Negative DKP Limit rules (see 4.4.2.1) are not allowed to get loot for their non-mains (until they are no longer at the limit). 4.5.2 Non-main Loot Limit - There is a ONE (1) item loot limit for Full Members for any of their non-mains per day of raiding. - This limit applies to all of a Full Member's non-mains. It does not apply to each one of them. - One exception to the non-main loot limit: - - if only one Full Member asks for an item for their non-main; if there's no interest (tells) by any other Full Member for their non-mains who is not at the loot limit, then the person can exceed the 1 item loot limit for a non-main. - The non-main loot limit is completely seperate from the regular main Loot Limit (see 4.4.3). 5. Miscellaneous DKP Related Items 5.1 Changing mains - First and most importantly: changing mains is NOT encouraged. - Refer to Sequel's forums policies, rules, and processes for changing mains. - Note that these DKP rules are not intended to be punitive, but countermeasures against those looking to abuse our DKP system and gearing up multiple characters by switching mains. 5.1.1 DKP Prerequisites for Changing Mains - Members looking for a main change must be Full Members. - Members must either: --- have not spent *any* DKP for at least 15 days and must have a current DKP balance of at least FOUR TIMES (4x) the highest current Max Bid Cap --- have not spent *any* DKP for at least 30 days and must have a current DKP balance of at least TWO TIMES (2x) the highest current Max Bid Cap - The one exception to this is obtaining rot loots for ONLY the new main is allowed (see 4.5.1). Refer to section 4.2 for the current Max Bid cap. 5.1.2 Changing Mains and Current DKP Deduction - If the application/trial membership is accepted for the new main, your current DKP will be transferred from the original Main to the new Main with a one-time reduction. - - This non-refundable reduction will *either* be reduced by (a) 50% of your current DKP or (b) the maximum bid cap value (see 4.2 for the current value), whichever of the two values is *greater*. Again, This reduction is non-refundable. - If the application/trial membership is denied, the Full Member's original main character is still considered their main with all rights/privileges restored, and any current DKP balance from the applicant character accrued during the new trial period transferred back to the original main. 5.2 Guildremoving - Disbanding from Sequel and then coming back, you will lose 100% of your DKP points. This is not a stop and go guild! You joined Sequel for same reason as everyone! If you get mad, frustrated, or whatever it may be, just LOG. Do not disband! People usually disband over something stupid. So just log take a break and relax. Tell an officer, let them know why your upset or whatever just don't DISBAND! - Inactivity can also lead to guildremoval. Refer to the Sequel Charter for more details. ____________________________________________________________ ** The rules governing Sequel's DKP system are subject to change at ANY time.
